Hi there, thanks for visiting this site.

I can't stand getting accused of being a liar, in addition I have a problem with getting ripped off by anybody. So here are the facts regarding "31 Rings":

May 30, 2005

I found the seller's auction for "The One Rings", movie prop replicas from the "Lord Of The Rings" movies. Seeing the low Buy-It-Now price of $ 1, I thought about buying some of them to be sent in one shipment, to save on shipping costs.

Therefore I asked the seller for shipping costs to my lcoation, Swizterland. I immediately got a shipping quote for a "flat rate". You can check this here:

As old items on Ebay get removed from their site after a while, here's a printscreen:

This quote made perfect sense, because these are exactly the prices that Canada Post charges for a letter of those weight classes - although Canada Post's prices are in Canadian Dollars and the seller's quote was probably in US Dollars.

I purchased 31 of these items from the seller in various Ebay auctions, all of them for $ 1 a piece. Since these items weigh less than 10 grams each, I was assuming a shipping price of $ 11.60.

BUT

Then I got the invoice from the seller:

So they wanted to charge $ 72.19 for shipping & insurance. I thought this must be an error and sent the seller an e-mail:

Some e-mails went back and forth in the meantime, I won't post them all. But this one was very interesting:

You can imagine my excitement hearing that I was actually saving $ 146.50 on the advertised price and even paying $ 70.41 less than their Preferred Clients!

In the end I paid the full amount of the invoice because I needed to get the items I purchased:

and notified the seller as follows:

Other lenghty e-mails arrived from their "Customer service", here's another interesting one regarding "shipping / handling":

June 13, 2005

I received my shipment:

1 padded envelope weighing 288 grams, postage $ 13.40 Canadian (= US $ 10.77)

So this is what cost me $ 72.19 in "shipping / handling":

After letting this sit for a while and trying to figure out what I could have done or read wrong, I sent another e-mail:

June 29, 2005

The reply from the "Customer Service", their last contact with me:

Aug 30, 2005

I left negative feedbacks for the seller, here they are, together with his replies:

After that, the seller left negative feedbacks, too, immediately followed by the request to mutually withdraw our feedbacks.

As I will not allow these negative feedbacks to affect my otherwise perfect feedback on Ebay, I agreed to have them mutually withdrawn.
